3D models from history

1. A concise explanation of the problem you’re experiencing.

I’m just starting out and looking to create 3D models using historical aerial photos (e.g. before satellites existed). I wondered if anyone in the group has come across this idea, what tools you have used and any comments.

2. A minimal code example. If you’ve found a bug, this helps us reproduce and repair it.

No code yet.

3. Context. Why do you need to do this? We might know a better way to accomplish your goal.

I’m looking at new ways to visualise history. Taking the concept of modelling today’s cities in 3D, I want to explore modelling the same cities in past time periods using historical aerial photos.

4. The Cesium version you’re using, your operating system and browser.

None yet.

I believe Spatial Services in NSW, Australia digitized and processed 1951 aerial imagery with Bentley Context Capture.

Thanks Josh.

Has anyone tried using ContextCapture? There’s no price on the website so i’m thinking it is $$$.
