# Compass suddenly flips heading during camera tilt from top of viewport

This plugin [GitHub - cmcleese/cesium-navigation: Cesium plugin that adds to the Cesium map a compass, navigator (zoom in/out), and distance scale.](https://github.com/cmcleese/cesium-navigation) was supported by community members for a while but I believe is now not maintained, but I think this fork of that project is more up to date [GitHub - cmcleese/cesium-navigation: Cesium plugin that adds to the Cesium map a compass, navigator (zoom in/out), and distance scale.](https://github.com/cmcleese/cesium-navigation)

While Cesium does not maintain a compass component ([Navigation and Compass · Issue #9930 · CesiumGS/cesium · GitHub](https://github.com/CesiumGS/cesium/issues/9930)) we hope these community resources can point you to a working solution.

Please let us know if you have further questions and if one of these resources is able to help you arrive at a solution. And it would be great to share your findings on the current best approach to this problem for the benefit of other community users.
