Extracting Elevation Data for Analysis

Are we allowed to query the elevation service and save files for later analysis? I’d like to see where the legal information is on ownership of data and how it can be used in a commercial setting.

e.g Could I query elevation to build 3D terrain tiles and then use them in a commercial simulator?

There are easier ways to get elevation data. Try http://nationalmap.gov/elevation.html

Philip,

The terms of use for the official Cesium terrain are here: http://cesiumjs.org/stk-world-terrain.html (near the bottom).

Downloading tiles for later use (outside of standard browser caching) is not permitted. You would would need to purchase a license for the data (more info in the above link). Email todd@agi.com if you have any additional questions.
