I am noticing the subsurface navigation for cesium is not as great as the surface navigation. One this is the control key sometimes wants to put you back on the surface again. The shift key seems to work fine but it is not as easy to maneuver. Are there better options for subsurface navigation?

Currently not by default. But it is possible to override the default camera controls with your own custom control scheme to meet your exact needs.
