# Migrating from Google Earth API to Cesium at FOSS4G

Hi folks,

Professor Hidenori Watanave, who many of you may know from the [Hiroshima Archive](http://cesiumjs.org/demos/hiroshima-archive.html), presented “Migrating from Google Earth API to Cesium” at FOSS4G recently. This was based on his experience porting several projects from GE to Cesium. Check out his [notes](https://t.co/OFhgAU4ZKd).

I also want to congratulate Professor Hidenori Watanave on [winning](https://twitter.com/hwtnv/status/644796736343375872) “The Best Cutting Edged Map” award for the Hiroshima Archive. This is well deserved recognition!
