A simple model crashes performance to single digit FPS

Hi, so while testing annotations I just noticed very bad performance of my story in ION.

The model is not complicated like 200 verticies, 8mb with textures
asset is 3070833 I loaded as bim/cad model
tried to to upload as 3d model 3070861 same results

If I add either of two to my story it will kill performance to 3 FPS.

I’m trying to use it with photo grametery model 2991044 that I use as a base and that model alone works perfectly fine, when I combine the 2 the performance drops 20x

Can you help me why

I attach a blender export glb as well here.
basen export glb 12x6.glb (8.6 MB)

Hi Maciej,

Thanks for letting us know about this. I was able to tile and load that asset and did not see a performance impact on my computer. In order to try and figure out what is going on can you provide some additional information.

  • Is the performance impact just in Stories or is it any time you view the asset? For example viewing assets 3070833 / 3070861 in the in the preview pane or a sandcastle?
  • Does this happend if you make a new story and only add that asset? If so what terrain are you using?
  • What operating system, browser and version you are using?

Thanks

The preview window in assets is just fine

it is the story that is killing the PC

I use win11 64Gb RAM RTX2080 with 6Gb VRAM and 12 Core Ryzen 3900 so it should be ok.
Chrome and Vivaldi in latest version both experience the same problem

Check this story it does not work for me Orbiting the pool kills the performance

but both models loaded to the sandcastle are just fine

Thanks for sharing that. We have identified at least one performance issue (#11923) that may be contributing to this. We are looking into how to best resolve that problem.

With the recent update everything is back to butter smooth
