Is this blog post still applicable to the latest version of Cesium?

3. Context. Why do you need to do this? We might know a better way to accomplish your goal.

I am trying to figure out how the rendering systems works, this seems to be more detailed than the tutorials on teh main website.

Hi Patrick,

This is still mostly correct, but we have added to the rendering engine since then, e.g., shadows, post-processing, 3D Tiles, etc. We also improved the way we handle z-precision, here’s a recent post on that: https://cesium.com/blog/2018/05/24/logarithmic-depth/

We also plan to write a tech blog post on the post-processing engine so keep an eye on the Cesium blog.
