CZML and terrain, heightmaps and heatmaps

Hi everybody,
I’m interested to use terrain data to visualize heat-maps: I see that I can dig a bit into how the a terrain provider request terrain tiles and generate the tiles based on the data I’ve on the heat-map, I didn’t tried yet, but do you think it’s possible? Does someone already tried it?

After that, I’m also wandering if I can update the terrain directly using CZML, or I always need to request each tile and update the terrain layer.
