NORAD Tracks Santa with Cesium

For the second year in a row, AGI and Cesium have partnered with NORAD and Microsoft to power the interactive Santa tracker display on Christmas Eve. Last year, millions of people followed Santa along his route in Cesium, and this year, we expect to reach even more due to improvements in modern browsers, including IE 11, which will run the 3D globe by default.

The most notable improvement this year is the much-requested addition of an animated 3D model of Santa, his sleigh, and reindeer, using glTF. Patrick has written a blog post going into the details: http://cesiumjs.org/2013/12/23/Building-A-WebGL-Santa-with-Cesium-and-glTF/

http://www.noradsanta.org/ is live, with various games and activities throughout December, and a countdown to the launch of the Santa tracker on the 24th. Make sure to stop in throughout the day to join in on the fun!

the Santa tracker is available only for christmas....
