Some questions about ContextCapture Models to 3D Tiles

Hi,I’m Fan. I have a scene of models generated in ContextCapture, and I want to convert them to 3D Tiles. In Cesium Blog you said I can mail the model data to you, and you can help us convert them to 3D Tiles by the indoor tools. However ,I still have some questions:
1.When export 3D models from ContextCapture, there are several formats to choose, which format can meet your need, osgb? s3c? obj?

2.Are there any free tools can I use to convert my modes to 3D Tiles?

3.How can I join the 3D Tiles pineers?

4.How can I get the Cesium Composer accout? I have signed up to get the beta invite for many times, but still no feedback. Can you give me a cesium composer beta invite? Please!!!

  1. Obj is the best format for us

  2. I don’t believe there are free tools out there for tiling large photogrammetry models.

  3. Email tim@agi.com. Also check out this page for more info: https://cesium.com/3d-tiles-pioneers/.

  4. You can ask Tim directly for a Composer invite.

Thank you,so I export my large models from ContextCapture by obj formt, and mail the them to you,you can help me to convert them to 3D Tiles?

Hi again Fan, the model is pretty small so it doesn’t benefit much from converting to 3D Tiles. At least our converter will likely just create a tileset with a single tile.

Hi, now I have exported 3DTiles from ContextCapture and display in Cesium, but the quality of models in Cesium are so low like pic1, and the orignal models in ContextCapture have high precision like pic 2. Can you tell me what’s the problem? Maybe I choose the wrong settings when export 3DTiles from ContextCapture?

Hi there,

Set Cesium3DTileset.maximumScreenSpaceError to a lower number than 16, like 8. It will load a higher level of detail.

Thanks,

Gabby
