Is there any way to access terrain type data areas (stuff like grass, roads, etc) on Google’s photorealistic tileset? I would like to be able to identify what’s road, grass, tree, etc to generate different material attributes for a post process IR shader.
@azrogers is right in that currently, Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles does not contain this kind of metadata. But you can always follow submit feedback to Google Maps Platform using these instructions. I’m sure you’re not alone in this request, so hopefully Google will incorporate it into their 3D Tiles data with time.
Thank you for the answer. It’s unfortunate that Google limits this. The boys from flight simulator figured out a way to do this using Bing maps and I was really hoping that this was possible in cesium as well.
