Water bodies are not flat when terrain is enabled

I am using Cesium ion to visualize cities with inland water ways, I am finding that when I enable terrain the waterways are not flat but look undulated Is there a way to fix this as it is not accurate when terrain is enabled?

Hello genias,

You would see undulation around areas where there is not enough resolution, which would cause neighboring low resolution vertices to dictate the surfaces of the rivers. If you had a watermask for rivers you could perform a shader operation in order to perhaps override the vertex positions, or hide water areas.

Another approach might be to retile new terrain data for the areas you are interested in.
