3d-Tiles Branch Point Clouds

Hi Cesium Team,

we would like to test the 3d-Tiles Point Cloud Branch with our own test data.

During the implementation some questions came up.

• what format are the position data (lat/lon), radians, or…

• are the positions relative to the bounding-sphere centerpoint or absolute?

• i found some more open questions here: https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/3d-tiles/issues/22

Hi Jannes,

Positions are in Cartesian relative to the center, see the RTC approach here. The points tile format is just an early prototype so please note that it will change when 3D Tiles are finalized.
