3DTiles Point Clouds

All,

We at Hobu have been working to use Entwine https://entwine.io to output 3DTiles point clouds for very large collections. You can see a prototype in action at http://cesium.entwine.io

For example, the post-Sandy collection of NYC, which is about 4.7 billion points in size, can be seen at http://cesium.entwine.io/?resource=nyc

We hope you find this interesting, and we look forward to iterating the point cloud aspect of the 3DTiles specification with knowledge and experience we've learned with other renders such as http://speck.ly and http://potree.entwine.io

Help us continue to improve by contributing and participating on the 3DTiles point cloud ticket at https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/3d-tiles/issues/22#issuecomment-248426364

Wow, great! Thanks for sharing!
It’s amazing to see a point cloud of that scale running in Cesium

Great demo, are you planning to support various LAS fields such as RGB and Elevation-> color as Potree does ? I would like to contribute, will check out the issue.

Howard,

Great stuff and great talk at the OGC meeting!

I added a screenshot and link to https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/3d-tiles#whos-using-3d-tiles

Sarah will also be in touch to showcase your work on the Cesium website.

See you at FedGeoDay!
