Hi all,
As many of us ramp down from our Santa tracker and other projects, and start to refocus on Cesium and Cesium-related projects, now is a good time to discuss where we are heading. First, let’s revisit what we are trying to achieve:
Our mission is to create the leading web-based globe and map for visualizing dynamic data. We strive for the best possible performance, precision, visual quality, ease of use, platform support, and content.
Although our project has only been open-source for eight months, it has been in development for almost two years. We’ve come a long way, and we’ll make big improvements this year. Based on our roadmap, issues, forum posts, and experience, I wrote a few emails on various areas of focus. I’m not looking for commitment, schedules, or gantt charts. Instead, I want to refocus us on our larger mission, spark productive discussion, and perhaps create an itch in some folks.
Although I’ve been preparing these emails over the past month, I’ll roll them out over the next few weeks to avoid creating too many threads at once.
Regards,
Patrick
