When I connect Unreal Engine 5.5.4 with Cesium ion (v2.17), I met the problem as follows: LogCesiumEditor: Error: Failed to obtain ion server application data: Received response code 403
LogCesiumEditor: Error: Error connecting: Failed to obtain _appData, can’t create connection
What should I do? I am in Germany, the network should be fine.
Hi @BruceYoung00, welcome to the community!
I’m sorry that you’re experiencing trouble with the plugin. Judging from the error code, it looks like there was an authorization error. However, I can’t reproduce this behavior from our side, so I’m not sure what could be going wrong.
Are you still experiencing issues today? It’s possible that there was a temporary issue that has since been resolved. If it still doesn’t work, try logging out and in of your ion account in the browser. If you’re accessing Cesium ion through a VPN, try disabling it and testing if you have better luck.
Let us know how things are so we can continue to troubleshoot. Thank you!
Hi @BruceYoung00,
Scratch that, I was testing with the wrong version of Unreal Engine. I’m also seeing connection issues in UE 5.5. We’ll take a deeper look to figure out what’s going on.
Hi @BruceYoung00,
Strangely, after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin from Fab, I was able to connect to Cesium ion again. Could you try a fresh install and let us know how it goes?
Thanks for your reply. Things are rather weird. I installed both the plugin and Cesium sample project from Fab. I can connect to Cesium ion in sample project successfully, but I failed in my own project with the plugin. What is the reason for that? I never used a VPN. Looking forward to your assistance.
Hi @BruceYoung00,
I just tried Cesium for Unreal v2.17.0 in Unreal Engine 5.5.4 with a brand new project, and I was able to sign into Cesium ion without any difficulty. Are you still able to reproduce the problem in your own project?
