I'm looking to use a SHP file

I have a zip file containing DBF, PRJ, SHP, and SHX files, and I’m looking to open and use these files. Does Cesium allow me to display the data? If not, what tool can I use to view the SHP data?

Hi, welcome to the Cesium community,

A SHP file is a geospatial vector data file format.

Cesium ion does not currently support tiling SHP files. If this is something you would like us to support, please let us know more information about your use case.

If you are looking to just view the contents of the file you can use an GIS application, like QGIS, to view the data.

Hi Mark,

Thank a lot for your help. Well, I’m doing a personal data project about the mobility flow in Australia specially in NSW and Sydney City. The data I have, represents the speed zones of Sydney streets.
I’ll look into it ;).

I didn’t know about Cesium; I’m brand new to the community and also to the computer science field. I find your open-source platform very impressive. What is its general usage?

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Maxwell

Hi Maxell,

Thanks for your interest in Cesium.

Cesium is focused on 3D geospatial data. Our Cesium ion service can convert many types of data into a format suitable for streaming. This way you can view large files in a web browser using our open source viewer, CesiumJS. We also offer tools for visualizing data in other platform such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and Omniverse. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
