New user story: Digital twin of Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace has developed a Cesium-powered digital twin to manage a 300-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Using the Cesium Design Tiler and Add-In for Autodesk Revit, they converted a massive Revit model into 3D Tiles, enabling efficient streaming and visualization in CesiumJS. The model includes 14,000+ elements, each enriched with metadata such as material type and risk assessments, forming the spatial index for their IoT network. Real-time sensor data from 30+ platforms flows into this unified environment, supporting automated alerts, predictive maintenance via machine learning, and energy optimization.

This workflow demonstrates how Cesium’s open standards and tiling pipeline make complex BIM models usable for operational insights at scale.
