Newcomer question: is it possible to create a 3D terrain map that is bounded by a lat/lng rectangle?

Hi,

first of all: awesome work.

second: I have searched for a couple of hours but I can't find a way to restrict a 3D terrain model to some lat/lng rectangle or box.

I want to create a 3D map, but like one of these plastic maps: with a rectangular base. I don't want to see the horizon, it should look and feel like a small model...

My guess is it would feel very natural to look at and orient at will...

If possible this should also restrict the amount of computational work I think...

Hello,

I don’t think it is currenlty possible to only render a part of the map. However, we do have a 2.5D mode we call Columbus View that is a 2D map with height. Here is an example with terrain:
