What can I do to eliminate freezing app when tiles 3d are loaded ?
This mainly applies to areas with photogrammetry.
It hangs minimally but it’s a bit irritating and ruins the dynamics of the game.
I tried changing the tiles parameters in Cesium3dTileset component but with poor results.
Is there anything else that can be done? Unity 6000.0.25f1/Quest 2
I don’t have a Quest 2 myself that I can try to reproduce this on, but major pauses certainly aren’t expected. Can you give us some more details of your setup? What version of Cesium for Unity are you using? Which tilesets and raster overlays are you using? Are you able to reproduce the behavior in the Cesium for Unity Samples project as well?
Yes, I am getting major stutters / spikes too in VR. It definitely happens when loading the terrain tiles (Google photorealistic tiles). I found setting maximum Simultaneous Tile Loads to 5 or lower will reduce the stutters some, but they are still there and quite annoying and reduces the immersion experience quite a bit. I am hoping to see performance improvements in the future. Perhaps more threads could be dedicated on Standalone Quest / mobile hardware. From this discussion on GitHub it looks like it’s only limited to 3 threads? Use Unity Job System instead of System.Threading · Issue #261 · CesiumGS/cesium-unity · GitHub
