Can Cesium ion get the location of gaussian splats .ply automatically?

Hi there,

I’m trying to import point clouds and gaussian splats into Cesium ion. When importing point cloud .laz, the location can be automatically set. While for the gaussian splats .ply, it seems like Cesium ion cannot automatically get the location from .ply file. There will be a “Tileset location has not been set.“ warning. Can Cesium ion get the location of gaussian splats .ply automatically? Or, is this caused by the wrong data format of my .ply?

Hi,

Cesium ion should be able to parse some geolocation information with ply files as the source. The ply format has a few different ways to define geolocation information. Currently the gaussian splats tiler supports having the SRS and SRSOrigin defined in the ply file and that can be parsed correctly.

Can you please share the asset id that you have for your upload and I can have the team take a look at it
