I generated a Gaussian Splat from a video using iTwin Capture.
The result displays correctly inside iTwin Capture, but after uploading the original .ply file to Cesium ion with “Gaussian splats” enabled, the asset appears severely broken in the Cesium ion Preview itself.
The splats are scattered and blurred, and the reconstructed terrain/structure cannot be recognized.
I have not applied any Tileset Location adjustment, rotation, scaling, or CesiumJS modelMatrix transformation. The PLY is not georeferenced because it was generated from video footage.
I tested with Gaussian splats enabled. With Draco compression enabled, the asset renders in a broken state. With Draco compression disabled, nothing is visible.
The source PLY is approximately 1.23 GiB. It displays correctly in iTwin Capture.
Could this be related to the known regression / rendering issue for Gaussian splats created from PLY files in Cesium ion?
