Cesium 1.12 muted non vivid colors in 2D

Has anybody noticed that the colors in 2D are muted or not as vivid as they are in 3D?

I uploaded a video which shows the differences using sandcastle.

Thanks

Jerry

What you are most likely seeing is the partial fix for this bug in action: https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium/issues/2635 However, this was fixed in 1.11, so it and 1.12 are the same (1.10 has the problem). With the fix, lighting is much more consistent (but still not perfect) and the abrupt changes shown in the linked issue are gone. I agree that this results in an overall dimmer scene and we have long terms plan for a complete lighting overhaul. Given this has been a hot topic lately, I’ll see if there are any simple changes we can make in the short term to further improve things, but I can’t make any promises.

Also keep your eye on https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium/issues/1825 and https://github.com/AnalyticalGraphicsInc/cesium/issues/1578, all of which are open issues regarding lighting.
