Feature coding of a point cloud in Cesium or Cesium ION

3. Context. Why do you need to do this? We might know a better way to accomplish your goal.

We currently outsource our feature coding of point clouds to a third party vendor. It is pretty expensive.

Does Cesium or Cesium ION have tools to help feature code a point cloud? If not, is that something in the roadmap?

If not Cesium*, What tools does the team recommend?

Do you mean being able to classify features in the point cloud like what areas are trees vs buildings etc.?

If so, there are currently no tools on Cesium ion for that. There’s no concrete plans for it on the roadmap but the long term goal is to get fast and efficient 3D tiling pipelines that then make it easier either for us to develop those kinds of tools or for others to build on top of 3D Tiles.
