Help getting bing maps keys (3d maps, hybrid, satellite)

so the new Azure maps portal seems way too complicated to get a key for a specific map type, so i need some help or a tutorial on that. i am making a project and i want to use Bing Maps for that, not google. someone please help, i’d appreciate it!

Hey @vinnyg0621, welcome to the forum!

Good news: you most likely don’t need to go through the Azure Maps portal at all. Cesium ion includes pre-licensed Bing Maps imagery that you can add directly with no separate key. In Cesium for Unreal, just use the Cesium ion Raster Overlay component and set the Asset ID to the id for Bing Maps Aerial (satellite only) or Bing Maps Aerial with Labels (hybrid/satellite + roads), you should be able to find those id’s in Ion.

The easiest way to add these is through the Quick Add panel in the Cesium toolbar, which has presets like “Cesium World Terrain + Bing Maps Aerial imagery” that wire everything up automatically.

If there is an alternate bing map these don’t cover, Cesium for Unreal also has a CesiumBingMapsRasterOverlay component where you can paste it in directly, which is what I assume you were trying to do but ran into issue with the Azure Maps portal. As Azure Maps is not a Cesium Service/Product, I would recommend you reach out to their support for help with that. I did quickly find some links that may be of use as well (with the caveat that I am not familiar with these sites/blog and have not followed through them myself):

Hope that helps or you can find help with Azure Maps support!

hold on, you forgot to mention the “3d maps” like 3d trees, 3d buildings, etc…
thats the option i couldnt find in it, only for google not bing.
