Incomplete KML Model Rendering on Cesium ion

Hello

We are currently evaluating options for hosting 3D models on Cesium ion and have encountered an issue we’d like your assistance with.

We generated a DWG file using AutoCAD Plant 3D and exported it to a KML file via AutoCAD Navisworks. This KML model was then uploaded to Cesium ion using the “host without tiling” option.

However, as shown in the attached image, certain parts of the model are not rendered correctly or are missing entirely. We would appreciate your guidance on how to address this issue.

Additionally, we have a few questions regarding best practices:

  1. When hosting 3D models on Cesium ion, are there significant advantages to using the 3D Tiles format over KML (e.g., performance, optimization, rendering accuracy)?
  2. In our test using KML (host without tiling), the uploaded model appears incomplete. Are there known limitations or conditions where KML files might not fully render 3D geometry?

Hi sdh, I just replied to your other thread about KML and answered the questions there.
