Japan 3D Buildings and Cesium data into Unreal Engine

I want to import Japan 3D Buildings and Cesium data into Unreal Engine as shown in the video linked below .

But I can’t find any tutorial.
If you don’t have one at the moment, please give me a brief step-by-step guide.

Hi @sung.sung,

You can import the Japan 3D Buildings as you would any other ion asset into Unreal.

A good starting point is the Cesium for Unreal Quickstart guide

After following Steps 1-5 in the quick start, in Step 6 you would adjust the steps to add the Japan 3D Buildings data. This would include the following changes to the documentation

Step 6.3 - Change the variables to a city location in Japan like Hiroshima

  • Origin Latitude = 34.4000
  • Origin Longitude = 132.4500
  • Origin Height = 500.0

Step 6.4 - Instead of adding the Cesium OSM Buildings, add the Japan 3D Buildings

  • Click the Add button to open the Cesium ion Assets panel.
  • Find Japan 3D Buildings in the asset list, click on it, and then click Add to Level.

Hi Dave_Braig,

Thanks for the response.

I will try it out and let you know if it resolves.

Hi @Dave_Braig ,

I just tried it and the problem is solved.
Very easy and no PLATEAU plugin needed.
Thanks!

If I can make some samples, I would like to publish the exe file for non-commercial use, is there any cost involved?

Hello @sung.sung,

I am glad to hear that you are able to use the 3D Building Data.

There is no additional cost for using the data. The only requirement is that the proper attribution is used in the application for the Cesium data and as required by PLATEAUs terms of use.
