Hello. I’m wanting to build an interactive model of Earth with latitude and longitude lines visible at the 25 kilometer view and smaller. I want the Earth divided by square kilometer for a hyperlocal, people-powered global news network.
Hi @John_Feier,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the Cesium community.
We have this sandcastle showing how to plot a custom grid on the globe Cesium Sandcastle
I hope this is relevant to your use case but if not please post again and let us know how we can help.
Best,
Luke
Thank you so much Luke.
I managed to get a “Google Earth” quality of sphere. I got the coding for it using ChatGPT.
I am now editing it. Here is the editing plan I intend on.
Overlay a flat map on the sphere.
Use lat/long to divide the face of Earth by 1km2
Identify the centroid of each 1km2 with a unique six character alphanumeric code.
Assign a “social media” account (boxes) to each unique code
Do you see where I’m going with this?
A people-powered global news network.
1 reporter per square kilometer.
