Linking to posts in this forum

When this forum is approached from http://cesiumjs.org/forum.html and you try to make a link all the link does is take you to the main forum page, not the topic. If you look at the console you’ll see an error like this:

Invalid ‘X-Frame-Options’ header encountered when loading ‘https://groups.google.com/forum/embed/?place=forum/cesium-dev&showsearch=tr…=true&hideforumtitle=true&parenturl=http%3A%2F%2Fcesiumjs.org%2Fforum.html’: ‘ALLOW-FROM http://cesiumjs.org’ is not a recognized directive. The header will be ignored.

If you approach this forum from https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/cesium-dev the links work just fine.

So until this is fixed, if making links is important it’s probably best to use the groups.google.com domain for the forums.

I noticed this too, it should be fixable, either by handling links on cesiumjs.org or having the link generated by Google Groups redirect to the actual google forum.

I wrote some more about it here
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/cesium-dev/wB9M4Twffoo/n444VbNv5GgJ

The string after the domain is totally different other than the unique id. Does Cesium have access to the code that generates links when embedding the forum into a webpage on another domain by chance? Copying the url at the top of the browser doesn’t work, nor does the link from the drop-down menu link generator. The Google Groups link is weird, not only does it require the unique id, but also a forward slash and at least one character.

I put in a fix for this, it should be deployed later today or some time tomorrow. Once it’s live, links created via the forum will go to the actual post on Google Groups. It was non-obvious how to get it to go to a specific post in the embedded version of the forum.

Sounds goods, I’ll be sure to try it out when it’s deployed. The bottom 2 rows on this support page seems to have some relevant info https://support.google.com/groups/answer/1191206?hl=en though I don’t know what they mean by fragments.
