Hello,
I am trying to upload this 3D asset and for some reason it is not properly rendering all materials. What is odd about it is most of the model is working properly; however some objects with the same materials are not. There are even objects that are half correct and then half white.
I uploaded the same file to another 3D model viewer software and everything was correct, so it must be something on Cesium’s end?
Best,
Jack
Hi @Jack_Young
Welcome to the Cesium ion community! Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with this asset.
Are you able to provide an asset id so that we can investigate this issue further? What software did you use to generate this data?
Hello @mdc9001
Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry I am extremely new to Cesium. Please let me know if this not the information you are requesting.
ID: 3268825
I had to taken this model from Rhino3D into Cesium through an .fbx export.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for that extra info. Looking at this model is it a bit different from what our tilers are optimized for. Ithas a mixture of both reality data (the walls) and modeled 3d geometry (the shapes floating in the air).
Because it is a combination of different sources of data it might be better to tile these as two separate assets, and then include both in the viewer. The floating shapes would use the 3D Model setting which is optimized for geometry created in a 3D modeling program. And the walls would use the 3D Capture setting which is optimized for data from reality capture like drone scans.
Would this approach work for you? If not, can you provide us with some more context about what you are trying to acheive?
I also tried tiling with the 3D Model setting instead of the 3D Capture setting. It does fix the texture on the floating shapes, but the walls look very shiny.
Tiled with 3D Model tiler
This appears to be an issue with the orignal source model as the shinyness is also present with viewing the FBX file.
