Misalignment in Cesium Sandcastle iModel Display

Hello Cesium Team,

In the sample that displays iModels in Cesium Sandcastle, two iModels (surroundingArea and station) are shown. However, the station area appears misaligned.

What is the fundamental reason for this misalignment between the models?
Possible causes we are considering include:

  • The iModels themselves are misaligned
  • The transformation matrix is incorrect
  • The reference coordinates for coordinate transformation differ

We look forward to your response.

Hi @Chiiii,

It could very well be that the iModels themselves are misaligned. Is this just out of curiosity or are you trying to do something with these models?

It’s also possible this is a regression that has gone unnoticed until now. If you’re able to test against earlier versions of Cesium and find that to be the case, please let us know and we’ll do some further digging to determine what the bug is

Best,
Matt
