I noticed that there is an option to change or override the water material in the “Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles” material settings. However, when I try to change the WATER MATERIAL, it doesn’t seem to work. The material stays the same and the changes are not reflected in the scene.
Has anyone successfully overridden the water material for Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles in Cesium for Unreal?
If there are any additional steps or settings required, I’d really appreciate some guidance.
It’s hard to tell what’s going on without some additional information, if you could share some screenshots of your material setup that would be helpful.
Hey, sorry to butt in here! I noticed this is a recurring question – it has to do with the fact that the Water Material is only used for terrain datasets that are delivered as quantized-mesh.
The water mask is delivered as metadata in quantized-mesh that Cesium for Unreal can consume in a material layer. Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles does not contain an equivalent (yet!).
