Cesium looks interesting -
Is 2D the same as Petere Projection, or is it Plate Carree?
2.5D - "Columbus View" = I don't think it is a conventional projection but can
someone tell me otherwise?

By default, 2D is Plate Carree. This is a plugin point, and Cesium ships with:
