Is there currently any suppoort in the 3d tiles branch for temporal data, or a way to extend it to use temporal data?

No, not yet. Temporal data is part of the 3D Tiles vision, but our initial work is on static 3D models, point clouds, and vector data (and styling all of these). When we start on temporal data, it will be announced in this thread.
