3DPTiles are now full of cracks

I think Google pushed some kind of optimization that made all Cesium apps have cuts and cracks in the terrain.

All levels of detail are affected, all 3D areas on Earth appear to be affected.


To reproduce simply go and look at any building or trees, you should see 10s of tiny cuts that weren’t there a few weeks ago.

The screenshots were taken using Photorealistic 3D Tiles but they are visible in all Cesium-based Google 3D Tiles apps currently.

Thanks for letting us know about this. I do see more cracks than usual, which is quite unfortunate. :grimacing:

This is an issue at the data level, so our runtimes can’t do much to fix their appearance. It would be best to direct feedback to Google through their support page so we can raise awareness of this issue. Thank you again for the report!

Very good to know that Cesium isn’t faulty, I have made a support case on the Maps Cloud platform.

My app has received a massive update and unfortunately I won’t be able to promote it until this is fixed…
