Building for Android - App doesn't start

Hi Community and Cesium team,

I’m trying to build an Unreal APK using Cesium for Unreal and deploy it to a Samsung Galaxy S7.

I can compile and build the APK successfully but when I install on the tablet, the app launches and just hangs on the Unreal Engine splash screen and sits there indefinitely.

This hanging occurs regardless of whether the level has a cesium for unreal actor added or not. ie, simply enabling the plugin results the hanging on the tablet.

If I disable the cesium plugin, and change nothing else and rebuild, the app launches and runs successfully.

I’ve tested with 4.27 and 4.26 with v1.8.1 of the Cesium for Unreal plugin.

I’ve tried debugging over usb via android studio but its a bit outside my skill level.

The question is has anyone successfully built and run on an android device?

Thanks in advance!

cheers, Matt

Hey Matt,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! It should definitely be possible to build and run on android devices, so we will look into this as soon as possible. I created an issue to track this here. If you have any additional information, please feel free to add it to the issue or your post here.
