Cesium cache folder not being created in Ue 4.27

"Hello,

I am using Unreal Engine 4.27 and the latest Cesium for Unreal plugin.

The Cesium cache folder is not being created in the <Project>/Saved/ directory. The terrain streams and loads correctly online in the editor, but no cache files are ever saved.

This is happening on two different computers from two different people. We have already tried the following troubleshooting steps with no success:

  • Running Unreal Engine as an administrator

  • Creating a brand new, clean project

  • Disabling all firewalls and antivirus software

  • Re-authenticating the Cesium ion token

  • Confirming there are no other conflicting plugins installed

Because this is failing on multiple computers, we believe this might be a bug with the UE 4.27 version of the plugin. Can you please help us figure out why the cache is not being created?

Hi @Mridul_sharma, welcome to the community!

We haven’t released a version for Unreal 4.27 in two years, so I’m afraid it’s not actually the latest plugin version. This might make it hard for us to troubleshoot any issues.

Still, the cache isn’t usually created in the Saved directory of the project. It appears as a sqlite file in the root project folder. This is what it looks like for me after opening the Cesium for Unreal Samples project:

If you can’t find this file in your project, I might suggest testing this with a newer Unreal Engine version so we can actually identify if it’s a bug within the plugin. Let us know what happens!
