GEE Maps Provider future

Hi Guys,

One of our customers is deeply concerned about the rumors saying that GoogleEarthEnterpriseMapsProvider and all others imagery providers are going to be deprecated in the future and the Cesium JS client will accept only 3D tiles.

Is it true?

I think the source of this rumors is the new project in collaboration with Google - Google Maps Platform Photorealistic 3D Tiles

Hi @Avi_Revivo,

There are certainly no plans to deprecate imagery providers or terrain providers. We’re big fans of all open standards, and will continue supporting them going forward.

We imagine we’ll see more use cases that fuse imagery, terrain, 3D Tiles, and other types of geospatial and 3D data, making them useful in new ways.
