Inverted YZ axis

Why I have to invert YZ axis when exporting from Microstation to Cesium for FBX/OBJ formats? It doesn’t need to be inverted in Microstation

Hi,

Which options are you picking when uploading your source obj? I can reach out to the tilers team and see why this may be the case.

Thanks,

There are no much options to choose. What I am missing is also to set EPSG code as it is for OBJ models. DAE/FBX is missing such option. I have them in real coordinates but have to manually adjust. Can’t grasp how Cesium is supposed to be used as i asks geolocate everything but at the same time options are so limited. How to upload already geolocated data? Sketchfab?

Hi,

I have created an issue for the tilers team to look at. I will reach back out to you as soon as they have an update

Thanks,

Hi,

After talking with the tilers team, this discrepancy is caused because the systems are considering different vertical axes. Our tilers have an option to specify the up axis to users which we are considering exposing through our UI and API to allow for users to specify.

In the meantime, if you don’t want to pick the option in MicroStation, you can manually adjust the position of your asset in the ion preview window by clicking “Adjust tileset location”

Thanks,
Ankit
