Ocean Exploration Trust using Cesium for Realtime Underwater Modeling and Immersion project

Ocean Exploration Trust’s Realtime Underwater Modeling and Immersion (RUMI) project uses Cesium for Unreal to bring together images and video from ROV Hercules, bathymetric point clouds from E/V Nautilus’s multibeam echosounder, and other dive observations in a georeferenced digital environment. This data is hosted on Cesium ion, where it’s tiled into 3D Tiles and streamed to Unreal Engine. The team also accesses Cesium World Bathymetry for areas along coastlines and inland topographic coverage, to provide broader geospatial context.
