Issues seeing & navigating Cesium in Godot

Hi!

I am a heavy user of Cesium for Unreal Engine 5 and would love to test out and use Cesium with Godot. But I seem to run in to some problems using it straight from the get-go. Would love if anyone has any answers or tips for getting it up and running correctly.

I am using Godot 4.5.1 on Windows 11 and have installed 3D Tiles for Godot via the Asset Library.

Following the guide, I have logged in to Cesium Ion and have added in a Dynamic 3D Camera and a Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles node into my scene.

But as I press play, I initially get no tiles loaded and the Camera is all tilted compared to the World Environment. As I spin the camera around, I do get some tiles rendering, but all the way at the bottom of my screen and very far away.

Change the Longitude and Latitude to a real world location and changing altitude does not seem to change anything, unfortunately. Moving my camera around for some time leads me to tiles looking like this:

If I use the Cesium World Terrain + Google Maps 2D Satellite instead of Google 3D, I do get the environment/3D tiles loaded correctly, but without any materials or textures.

I do also get this warning regarding Atmosphere settings, so this might explain why the WorldEnvironment doesn’t behave as expected.

I would love to get this working correctly, as I see great potential to use this instead of Unreal for some projects at work.

If anyone has any pointers to what I am doing wrong or could assist I would highly appreciate it, thanks in advance!

which released binaries (3D Tiles For Godot v1.0.1 or 3D Tiles For Godot v1.0.0) are you using? also i would recommend to use Godot 4.4.1 instead of 4.5 for now.

Thank you for directing me to a similar post, will try some of the tips and tricks there!
(Issue with out of the box Cesium Ion assets: Slanted terrain, missing textures and more)

I was using 3D Tiles For Godot v1.0.0 from the Asset library from within Godot itself.
Will switch to 4.4.1 and see if I see any improvements as well.

Cheers!

Use the latest 3D Tiles For Godot v1.0.1, which may have fixed the issue with Google 3DTiles.
the post was older than the new release.

Thx
