Unable to access bucket

Hi. I’m trying to export a very small (7 MB) geojson file with 3D geometries as 3DTiles using Cesium ion. I am told to use instructions here.

I successfully upload my file in My Assets. I can see my features shown in yellow in the preview window. When I “Export Asset”, I am presented with the details of my bucket info, which I am sure of. When I run the export, I get

“We were unable to access bucket ‘my_name’ …”

I surmise the reason is that my bucked is in the ca-central-1 AWS region. Am I right in suspecting this ? If so are there ways to “fully specify” bucket location ?

TIA

Hi,

Welcome to the Cesium community. I apologize that you are having trouble with the export. Cesium ion should be detecting which region your bucket is in when export.

  • Are you able to provide the id of the asset you tried to export? That will help us investigate this further.
  • Are you ok with us re-trying the export to troubleshoot it if needed?

Regards,

  • Mark

Thank you Mark.

ID = 2821551

We exported with FME, which incidentally does not appear to need a “CesiumIonConnector [to] convert data to 3D Tiles via Cesium ion” as per 3d-tiles/RESOURCES.md at main · CesiumGS/3d-tiles · GitHub) but also only exports 1.0.

I was told the bucket I have is not totally public so no wonder it can’t be found. I would really appreciate your exporting it to 1.1.

TIA

Hi,

Asset 2821551 is a single GeoJSON file. Since it is only a single 7 MB file the easiest solution is to just download the file from the Sources tab and then re-upload it to your bucket.

I was told the bucket I have is not totally public so no wonder it can’t be found

We would need to be able access the bucket using only the credentials provided. If there are some other requirements for access in place, then we would not be able to upload.
