I want to view a high resolution OBJ in cesium viewer. When I upload it for tiling the tiling process gets stuck at 9%. After 24 hours I observed that the error occurs as tiling failed.
The asset ID is 2436666 (I had reuploaded it after first attempt).
Just to confirm 2417901 and 2436666 are the same data? I see that 2436666 is still processing. 2417901 exceeded the processing time limit of 24 hours and that is why it failed.
Can you share what type of data is in this file and what software was used to create it?
I see that the data was uploaded with the 3d Model option. A common issue is selecting the 3d Model tiler when the data is better suited to the 3d Capture tiler option (especially with large data sets). Here is an explanation of the difference between 3d Capture and 3d Model. I would recommend trying to tile it with 3d Capture and see if that works.
I’m also moving this to the Cesium ion category since it is related to tiling data on Cesium Ion and not viewing it in Cesium JS
Hello @mdc9001
The data was exported from Reality Capture. When used 3D Capture option the data did get tiled correctly. It also got oriented as expected.
Recently we purchased cesium ion commercial license to test big OBJ files.
The OBJ which I had uploaded before was a section cut from an OBJ of size 20GB.
After purchasing the license we upload this bigger OBJ for tiling. But the OBJ did not get tiled.
I uploaded this file as a 3D Capture setting.
Please review following image:
Please note that the account I used was of my teammate’s (username: mayur.maheriya)
Can you please take a look at this data and let us know what went wrong?
It looks like this data was upload from S3 instead of from the web browser. Because of this we don’t have a copy of the source data available to investigate this issue further.
Is it ok for us to reuse the credentials you provided for tiling to access this data to investigate further? Or would your prefer to provide a new set for us to use for our investigation. You can email those to support@cesium.com.
@mandar.wagh I apologize for the delay. We have a tiled version of 2454560 we can upload, but I noticed that you deleted the data from your account. Are you still interested in this data?
@Matt_Amato Thank for you replying. I am still interested in the data.
I had to delete the data to free up some space in the account. Would you be uploading the data in the ion account? If yes then I’ll need to delete existing data.
I could also share a OneDrive folder with you, you can directly upload there. I will need your email address for this. (I would prefer this approach)
Moreover, I am curious about the issue with the data? Was there anything wrong with the OBJ/MTL/Texture files? If yes then I will need to inform this our client and check how we can correctly export the data.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for looking into it.
